For as long as I can remember I’ve always loved layering when styling outfits. What better way to wear items again and again but achieve a different look every time? Not to mention that with the weather being so unpredictable in the UK, it’s great to be able to add on or whip off a layer when it’s cold out but sweltering hot on the tube!

In this post I’ll be sharing my 3 favourite layering combos, and examples of how I’ve styled them all recently. With Spring looming I’ve tried to go for looks that are great for this transitional period.

First up is the jacket over jacket combo. Now this can be a puffer over a denim jacket, a trench over a leather jacket, a bomber over a blazer… the list goes on. Something different I tried a couple of weeks ago and loved was my Zara trench over a full denim look. Definitely a combo for the chillier days or evenings, this look has causal but cool vibes written all over it.

Next up is a combo perfect for the warmer spring days. The shirt over a turtleneck look. I’ve worn this combo a number of times and it never fails! Turtlenecks are a great piece to layer with, especially if you only want to wear a light jacket or blazer as your outerwear piece.

Lastly, the dress over trousers combo is the perfect way to make the most out of your spring/summer pieces on the days when it’s just not warm enough to get your legs out. I styled this combo a couple of blog posts ago and tried it again this week with a print shirt dress – one of my favourite recent looks!
