The mention of Valentine’s Day used to always send my mind straight to thoughts of date night, chocolates and bouquets. Now, I use Valentine’s season as an opportunity to focus on how I can love better. “Love better?” you say, well…
“Love is a verb, without action it is merely a word.”
The quote says it all really. It can be so easy to say you love someone, after all it’s just a word! But it takes a lot more effort to actually show and share that love. Life can be so busy sometimes, I often get caught up in the buzz and don’t get to spend the quality time that I should do with my loved ones. I don’t just mean going to the cinema with my boyfriend, or spending the weekend at my mums. I mean actually taking the time to put my phone down (one of my biggest distractions!) and give my undivided attention to whoever I’m spending time with, whether that be God, my boyfriend, my family, my friends or myself… that’s what love is really about right?
So this Valentines I’m going to do just that. I’m hoping to do something nice with the boyf and have also planned a little Galentine’s getaway with the girls, which can only mean one thing… time to get some outfits ready!
Last month I started using an app called Mercari to sell my pre-loved items (you guys know I love to do that!). It’s super easy to use and it’s the first selling app that I’ve come across which doesn’t charge their users a penny! After making over £100 in just one month, I decided to use that money on the Mercari app to find two cute Valentine’s outfits!
This look is for the traditional Valentine’s date night. I managed to find this gorgeous blazer, chunky knit jumper, shirt and earrings all new on Mercari for under £50!
For my second look I went a bit more casual for the perfect Galentine’s outfit. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect faux fur coat all Autumn/Winter so when I spotted this gorgeous NEW coat for only £15!! I had to have it. I paired it with this simple but cute jumper, leather pants and trainers for that effortless vibe.
No matter how you spend your Valentines/Galentine’s I hope it’s a great one! Also, if you’re still looking for an outfit why not check out my Mercari shop ‘here’.
