Since starting up photo blogging I have to be honest and say that I’ve had a lot of doubts about whether to continue with it all. It’s really easy to feel so small in the ‘social media/blogging world’, and I’ve often wondered how long it’ll take to get some recognition, if ever!
I voiced this all to a good friend recently and she said something that really spoke to me… ‘You have to focus on validating yourself first and foremost, remember why you started out’. One of my favourite quotes is:
“Love what you do, do what you love”. [Wayne W. Dyer] I’m now going to start adding – “and do it for yourself first!”.
I do this all because I enjoy it. I love piecing together outfits, taking photos of ish, and I want to share that with others on a widely used platform. As much as it’s nice to get recognition, I need to take a step back and realise that there’s something beautiful about doing something just for ME and letting that be enough.
Below are some photos of a casual look I wore over the weekend. I didn’t put much thought into it, I just wore what I thought felt and looked good, something I need to do more often – enjoy!
P.S. To all my fellow #begginerbloggers – there’s no shame in being a beginner, the struggle makes the story.
